LOUIS VUITTON: A CELEBRATION OF MONOGRAM
What do Christian Louboutin, Cindy Sherman, Frank Gehry, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Newson and Rei Kawakubo all have in common? They are all rebels in their own (very ingenius) ways. At some point throughout their highly successful careers, they have each taken a set of cherished beliefs or institutions and, for want of a better phrase, thrown them out of the window. And now these six iconoclasts have another thing in common – they have all been commissioned to give their own interpretation of the signature LV monogram for a series of bags. Why? To celebrate the brand’s 160th birthday. “This is a group of geniuses,” said Vuitton’s executive vice president Delphine Arnault, “We simply went to those who are among the best in their fields. I thought it was so interesting – and fun! – to have all of these different points of view on the monogram.”
These very exclusive and limited editions will be priced between €2,000 to €4,000 and available in selected Louis Vuitton stores worldwide from mid-October 2014.

As part of a tour put on by an organization called The Mystical Arts of Tibet, a group of Tibetan Buddhist monks from India recently visited the Crow Collection of Asian Art in Dallas, Texas.
They were there for a weeklong residency during which they constructed this magnificent Tantric Buddhist mandala sandpainting.
